Before you ask a Good Omens question, look here. An incredibly impressive job of research and gathering.

And if you have been here before it’s time to look again. A lot has been added.

I just saw somewhere you recommend writing 300 words a day. I can't imagine how to do that, I will manage 50-100 at most and I will edit endlessly. Do you continuously add to the story without returning to the previous chapters and keep almost everything as it first occurred to you? Is it a matter of practice to become more productive and require less editing? I think I enjoy playing around with details though, is that a bad habit to shed?

Write whatever works for you. I wrote Coraline at 50 words a day because that was the time I had. I wrote American Gods trying for 2,000 words a day (and often failing) because it needed to be a thick book and at 50 words a day I’d still be writing it.

Hi Neil! I don't know if you know anything about this but I just picked up a clothbound version of Stardust (the gift edition) and it's bound upside down?? I had to bring it home because I was so baffled by it, and it was the first book I happened to pick up.

I don't know what I'm asking I just thought it was so strange. I wonder if there are other upside down ones out in the wild? Have you seen any?

They definitely exist. We discovered several the last time I signed books at Golden Notebook. They are definitely odd.

What made you decide to change the name of good omens from “William the antichrist” to “good omens”?

Well, for a start the boy in question was now called Adam.

This war has to stop. Israel is stopping aid from getting into Gaza and people are starving.

I’ve known Ayelet for over twenty years, and am now, as so often, proud of her. Here’s her husband, Michael’s Instagram, with more background and information.

Neil Gaimain about writing Good Omens with Terry Pratchett (x)

Neil: His line to me when we were writing “Good Omens”, he would phone me up and he’d say, I’ve just done this and it’s made it 17% funnier. I’d written this whole meeting between the International Express man and Pollution and I’d mentioned that, you know, ‘he and his wife went down there sometimes when they were courting to spoon’ and Terry added the line, ‘and on one memorable occason, fork.’

Rob: On one memorable occasion.

Neil: On one memorable occasion, and it‘s made it 17% better. In fact, in that case it may have made it 100% better.

lavendertownsghost asked:

This is a bit of an obscure question, but in the Sandman comics was there any connection intended between Ruthven Sykes and Ruthven the rabbit-headed vampire man who lives in the Dreaming, or were the names a coincidence?

They both take their name from Lord Ruthven the Vampire, by Polidori. But Ruthven Sykes was loosely named after the character in Gilbert and Sullivan’s Ruddigore.

I've loved Good Omens for over 15 years. I'm in my 30s now and finally had the time and money to make my favorite book and show a permanent part of myself. Thank you for everything ❤️

I'm sorry it's genuinely been bothering me but.. when did Aziraphale and Crowley switch bodies in ep6 S1??? in which bit of the episode? Cus while eating the icecreams they seemed to act as themselves.. just can't figure it out myself!!

They’ve switched when you see them the morning after the bus ride back to London.

Crystal Palace Surname-Von Hoverkraft? I love the show and want to get the books if I can source them but like why you do Crystal dirty with that name 😂

I didn’t. Crystal was created (and named) by the team of Toby Litt and Mark Buckingham, in the original Dead Boy Detectives comic series.
